Preview Mode: ------------- The third necessary text file is your preferences file and must be titled "prefs.txt". It allows you to run the program in preview mode. For better workflow you may wish to process only a portion of your song and have a listen before you process the entire song. In the text file called prefs.txt set it up as follows: pre on start min sec msec length seconds Fill in the minutes, seconds, and milliseconds fields with the values you want. Tabs are between all words and values. A wave file called preview.wav will be created when pre is set to on. The "start" command sets the beginning of what you want to mix. And "length" sets how much time after the start time to include in the preview mix. When you are ready to print a full length mix set the pre parameter to off as follows: pre off Note: The start and end information lines can be left intact when you toggle between preview mode being on or off. When preview mode is on, an output file called preview.wav will be created. When preview mode is off, the output file will be called by the name of the first line of the faders.txt file. You have the option when specifying the preview start time, to change the number of data fields from 3 to 2 or 1. In this same preferences file, start a line with "sfields" followed by a tab and a value from 1 to 3. 3 is the default. If you use 2 fields, the first is minutes and the second is seconds. If you use 1 field, only seconds should be entered. Again, if 3 fields is your preference you don't need to change this setting.
