Tapping the Reverb Send: ------------------------ If you want to use a different type of reverb than the built-in design, the signal may be tapped before the "rev" reverb and saved to a 24-bit wave audio file. In the preferences file, simply start a line with "tap", then tab, and then enter "rev". A stereo file called revTap.wav will be created in the same directory as the main mix file. From there you can use another program to apply reverb to this output file. Then you would bring the processed file back into Mixer4 as a regular track (as your new source of reverb) and disable the "rtn" function in the faders.txt file. The assumption is that you would be able to decide how much reverb to apply to different tracks using the built-in reverb. Note the "trev" reverb does not currently work with this file tap function. Be sure to remove the tap function once you are done so you do not waste time building new tap files with every mix! Tapping the Reverb Return: -------------------------- To save on processing time, or for archival purposes, or to add multiple reverbs to a project you may wish to save the reverb return to a file. In the preferences file, start a line with "tap", then tab, and then enter "rtn". A 24-bit stereo file called rtnTap.wav will be created in the same directory as the main mix file. Note that this file will have the return level applied. It can be added to the project as regular track and the rtn function bypassed or removed. Remember to also remove the tap function from the preferences file when done.
